Prior to admission to the Day Procedure Unit, patients will receive information about:

• Their scheduled procedure
• Pre procedure instructions
• Fasting requirements if applicable
• Medication instructions
• Arrival time

Patients will be asked to complete an Admission Form prior to their procedure.

This form allows the clinical team to review medical history, medications and contact details.

Patients should bring:

• Medicare card
• Private health insurance card if applicable
• List of medications
• Referral documentation if required
• Comfortable clothing for discharge
• Advanced Care Directive (if applicable)
• A support person – optional but encouraged, particularly if you require assistance with mobility or instructions

Following your procedure:

• Post procedure instructions will be provided
• Follow up appointments will be arranged by your procedural doctor if required
